In the middle there is a hollow black cylinder out of which a wire comes and forms a long loop. On the front of the black cylinder there are two silver wires that are encased in with ceramic tiles. From the other side of the black cylinder is an electical cord , a silver and a copper wire which are encased in black plastic until the last two inches where they split into two wires again.

There is a carboard storage box (not accessioned) that the item is kept in.
Notes:
The thermocouple is put into the muffle furnanace. Used with a pyrometer to monitor the temperature inside an Assay furnance.
