Description:
Horizontal, rectangular oil painting on canvas, affixed to fiberboard. Canvas does not completely cover board and stops short of edge about 0.125 inches — 0.375 inches from edges. Painting has distinct finished edge which gives 0.25 inches — 1.0 inches stretching edge covered with ground and paint washes with ragged edges on bottom and vertical sides. Foregound is grey—brown mudflats or beach, with open water with treed point of land on right side. Midground and background are glacier and mountains. Cloudy sky has a break in the clouds shining on the center of the glacier face. Front of fiberboard (where not covered with canvas) is painted grey—blue. Edges of board and corners are worn. Back has black marker inscription. Framed in 1996 with reddish wood with linen mat.
Inscription: "#50 Taku Glacier" on back.
