Description:
Round crown of helmet flares to flat rim. Interior of helmet has four interlocking pieces of leather attached to one circular piece, tied together with small piece of leather. Attached at opposing sides with brass are two partial cotton straps; one with buckle, other with clip.
Notes:
WWI Army helmet belonged to Erik Larson homestead in Auke Bay. Donated in memory of Sam Nickel, the most recent owner of helmet. (see 85.04) Mr. Larson was an uncle of J.Trucano, who moved to Alaska in 1936.
