Description:
Black and white photographic print of a group of twenty—five men on a the deck of a ship. All men are in military uniforms. One man at center is holding a dog. Back row has five men sitting. Middle row has five men sitting. Front row has 15 men standing.

Verso has stamped text reading: "OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPH \ NOT TO BE RELEASED FOR PUBLICATION". Below that text is more stamped text with in a square reading: DISTINICTIVE PHOTOGRAPH \ PHOTOGRAPH NO. ————16884 \ RAY KRANTZ \ Photographic Illustrations \ 3300 West 77th St. SEATTLE, 7, WASHINGTON \ Telephone Hemlock 7400". Both of those stamps are located approximately center and toward the top edge. Toward the proper right corner along the proper right edge is a third stamp. This one is circular and has text which reads: "PASSED BY EXAMINER BASE 1715 ARMY".

The US AFF P—510 was an emergency rescue boat in the Aleutians during WWII. 11th Air Force bombed Kiril Islands of Northern Japan in 1943—1945. The 10th Emergency Rescue Boat was assigned to them to recover air crews ditched at sea. The P—510 was built in 1944 by Fellows and Stuart in Wilmington, California with two 1500 HP Packard Engines. It was 85 feet long. Its official description was an Offshore Rescue Boat stationed at Attu.
