    Photograph portrait of Olga Baggen. Photograph is sepia toned, matted and in a two—flapped cardboard cover. The matte is cream colored with a grey edge and has two gray overlapping circles. The name "Olga" is handwritten in script in the lower proper left corner of the matt. The portrait is a three—quarter profile view of a young girl. She has short hair, curled at the ends and pulled back in a headband. Sh is wearing a light colored shirt with a lace collar. There is a pin a the front center of her neck line that consists of a stone and two wings. The background is blurred but she could be sitting in a round backed chair. The cardboard case is greenish—gray in color. The lower triangular flap fits into the the rectangular upper flap to create a stand for the portrait. The retangular flap has a floral crest embossed at center. Attached by clear tape to the interior face of the top flap are two pieces of newspaper. The first has black typed text reading: "MONDAY, DECEMBER 6, 1954". The text is underlined. The second piece of newspaper contains an article (black typed text) reading "Rites for Baggen, \ Alaska Tug Captian, \ Slated for Juneau \ Funeral services and burial for \ George Baggen, Sr., will be con— \ ducted in Juneau, the date to be announced towmorrow, it was re— \ vealed today, following arrival of \ his body from Seattle, where he \ died last Thursday, following a \ year's illness. \ The body was accompanied \ north to Juneau by his daughter, \ Mrs. James Vrooman, of Annette Island. \ Capt. Baggen, well known pio— \ neer tug and barge man of south— \ east Alaska, had undergone surgery \ in Sattle. His son George and daughters, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. \ Vrooman were present at the time of death. \ Other surviving memers of the family are his wife, Mrs. Olga Bag—gen, a daughter, Mrs. BurrJohnson, Grants, New Mexico, formerly of \ Junea; a son, L. C. Baggen and \ George Baggen Jr. He is also sur— \ vived by 9 grandchildren and two \ great—grandchildren. \ Capt. Baggen was a member of \ the Elks lodge of Sitka, The Ameri— \ can Legion, (a veteran of World \ War I), and Igloo No. 6, Pioneers \ of Alaska. \ Burial will take place in the \ family plot in Evergreen Cemetery." Handwritten in blue ink above the two newspaper clippings is the text: "Betty \ Olga Baggen Varoman". Both "Betty" and "Varoman" are circled.
