Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "Slide March '62" in handwriting. The image shows an exterior, a hillside looking up to a mountain slope. The hillside is littered with broken trees and torn earth, probably caused by the avalanch which took place on March 22, 1962. The damage is limited to the tree line in the foreground. Above that and into the background, the hillside is more rocky and there is snowcap at the very top. The number "13" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left. Also bears the printed text "JUL 62P" on the bottom edge, perhaps indicating when the slide was developed.
