Description:
Color postcard shows interior of store with glass cases and shelves holding tobacco and smoking paraphernalia. Lower left with white printing. Reverse printed in green ink. Published by J.B. Caro and Company Incorporated, Juneau, Alaska. R—48468. One cent stamp required. Never used.
Inscription: "Do this little thing 'Try Me'. When in Juneau. Good smokes. At Burfords".
Notes:
Burford's Corner, at Front & Seward St, operated from 1911 to 1935. Phone directory listing says "billiards and cigars". It also had nickel slot machines according to A.H. Humpheries' article "An Earlier Juneau", Alaska Sportsman, Oct. '67. J.B. Caro was a wholesale agent from 1903—1956.
