Donated through Gastineau Historical Society. Miss Hallock's father worked in mines here (see 87.13.001). George Hallock became superintendent at "News Boy Mine" in N. Alaska. Married Stella Rasmussen.
After the new high school was built in the late 1950's, it became the grade school. It is now the Terry Miller Building & houses legislative offices.
