Description:
Graduation portrait of Floyd Dryden, March 1924. Subject is turned slightly toward proper right, with head facing camera. Bust portrait; photograph cuts off subject on either side of shoulders and below midriff. Subject is depicted as young man wearing white shirt with high rounded collar, dark tie with light diagonal lines and polka dots tucked into dark vest, and dark—colored jacket with notched lapels and light pin stripes. Background is mottled grey/white. Photo is affixed to inside a brown tri—fold cover made of thin textured cardboard by means of four photo corners; embossed decorative border surrounds photo. Central segment of cover consists of two layers glued together; upper layer (with photo set in it) has roughened, worn edges to create visual border. Printed in light ink under photo: "Burns Photo Co. / Lewiston". Bottom segment of cover is pointed and folds up over photo, covering subject up to collar. Handwritten in black ink on inside of this segment: "Graduation — March — 1924 / Lewiston State Normal". Top segment of cover folds down and covers entire middle segment, with diagonal embossed lines and punched—out segments to create stand for photo. Decorated diamond embossed in center of top segment has slits along both bottom edges for bottom segment of cover to tuck into when folded.
