Structures of the Treadwell Mining Plant are in the background. A wood bridge passes from the proper left to proper right in the foreground with a train car moving on it. A large trail of smoke is coming out of the cart and up on the proper left. On the top edge it is written in pen: "Douglas Island, Alaska," and on the bottom is written, "Treadwell Mining plant: From Wharf."

On the back: "Harrison Bros., Juneau Alaska" stamp with star decoration.
Notes:
Cart is going backwards, perhaps to dump waste rock in channel.
