Title:
Sinking of the Princess Kathleen
Place:
Lena Point, Alaska
Date:
09/07/1952
Description:
Photograph of the sinking of the Princess Kathleen.
Color vertical photograph of sinking ship. The photograph is of one side of the ship from which lifeboats have been lowered. The ship's hull takes up the majority of the photograph. The angle of the ship suggests that the stern of the boat has already began to sink beneath the water. There are three life boats already in the water and two still hanging from the side of the ship. No people are visible.
