Title:
Constructing a Boat at Lake Hasselberg for Fishing
Date:
1931
Description:
Black and white photograph of two men standing on a rocky beach putting together a wooden row boat. One man is standing at center. He is wearing a white sleeveless undershirt and is holding a piece of wood for the side of the boat in front of him with both hands. The other man is near the bow of the boat at the proper left of the image. He is wearing overalls and a hat. He is holding the same board of wood as the other man with his left hand. His right hand is using a hand tool to shave down the edge of the wood. Both men are looking at the hand tool. Behind these men is a float plane (sea plane). The aircraft's tail extends over the shore. Text on the side of the plane identifies it as part of the Alaska—Washington Airways fleet. There are trees in the background.
Verso has a stamped number "7" in the lower proper right corner in blue ink.
The photograph is taken at Lake Hasselberg in 1931.
