Description:
Color postcard with altered photograph of wintertime Juneau shoreline with a large glass dome in Telephone Hill area, and words in yellow at the bottom, "Wish you were here!" On the reverse, "Alaska State Capitol Juneau, Alaska constructed 2009," stamp of R. Buckminster Fuller as a geodesic dome and note to Jane Lindsey from Joe Leahy, "Dear Jane, RBF (see stamp at right) would approve of the design concept for the proposed Alaska capitol. You may wish to add this card to your collection. As ever, M. Jos. Leahy."
Notes:
Leahy was the first director of the museum in the 1970's. Mayor Bruce Botelho initiated a design contest in 2004 to jump start the design and building of a new capitol on Telephone Hill.
