Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "Lions Float 7—4—59" in handwriting. The image shows an aerial shot of an unknown street on the parade route, captured on a downward facing diagonal. A low cement wall is visible at the top left (a number of people are sitting atop it), with a row of shrubbery at its right. A cement street occupies the center of the image, on which a float is traveling. It is constructed from a rectangular flatbed, over which is fabricated a large quarter spiral, ribed and trimmed in purple. The front part of the float is yellow and also trimmed in purple. Lateral text reads "Alaska will have ups & downs. But we'll make it". The Lions International logo is featured on the left and rear sides. The number "8" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left.
