Float Plane In the Snow

Description:
Black and white photograph of an aircraft parked on a snow covered field. The airplane is being view from the front proper right side. The plane has a boat like central body and a pontoon at the end of each wing making it a float plane (sea plane or boat plane). The double propellers are above the central cabin and below the upper wing. Two smaller wings (to which the pontoons are attached) stick out from the cabin's sides. Rope or wire is attached to the underside of the upper wings and the ground. Snow covered mountains, trees and a building in background.

Verso has a stamped, upside down number "2" in the upper left corner in black ink.

The album belonged to William G. Brian Harland. He was a mechanic for Alaska—Washington Airways and Alaska Southern Airways. He was based out of Juneau.
