Black and white photo with white borders. Snowy mountains in background and snow lies about a foot deep all around. Shows old Juneau Grade School on 5th Street between Franklin and Seward Streets. Three story building with two covered entrances. Wheeled cannon in foreground. Reverse printed in gray. Never used.
Notes:
The school was built in 1927 & used as a grade school until 1956, when new high school was finished on Glacier Hwy. The grade school moved to the old High School which was between Main & Seward St & renamed Capital Grade School. The old grade school burned in the early 1970's. The Capital School was donated to the State in 1989 and is now known at the Terry Miller Legislative Building.
