Downtown Iceberg—1977

Hermle, Jack
Date:
1977
Description:
Color photograph of an iceberg in Gastineau Channel.
Taken from Douglas looking toward Juneau. The foreground is the water in the Channel. The iceberg is glacier blue with snow on the top. Behind the glacier is the top of the Federal building and smaller buildings and houses. In the background are the mountains behind Juneau. It is snowing because the background looks hazy and white. There is a sea gull flying to the proper left of the iceberg.
Notes:
Picture was taken from the parking lot of the Breeze—In on Douglas. Jack "doesn't know the name of the sea gull." It was taken with an Olympuc OMI camera with 100mm lens.
