    Photo from street (Ferry Way?) looking at "Nugget Shop", 1945.  Shows two  military service men walking by. Also shows two totem poles, "CURIOS" sign & "Grocery & Meat" truck in front of "Nugget Shop".  On back written "Juneau, Alaska 1945" in blue ink pen.
    Notes:
    Mr. Thomas A. Crawford was stationed in AK & Yukon during WWII.  He was barber by profession & barbered during the war at the PX.  He took these photos in 1945. He is no longer alive.
Nugget Shop was at 219 S. Franklin & owned by Dr. Robert & Belle Simpson. In the late 1940s they moved the store to 2nd & Seward.
Dr Simpson was an optometrist & had his offices in the upstairs of both stores.
