Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "S. of Ketchikan 5—22—53" in handwriting. The image shows a body of water spanning the foreground and middling area, with a wide shoreline extending across the background, with snowcapped peaks toward the right. In the foreground, there is a red flag on a pole, suggesting the image was taken from the stern of a vessel, and there is black smoke in the air, possibly from the vessel's engines. The number "11" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
