Place:
Juneau, Alaska
Date:
July 4, 1957
Year Range from:
1957
Year Range to:
1957
Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "July 4 1957 St Ann's Band" in handwriting. The image shows a wide vacant dirt lot, apparently a ballpark, which may be a staging area for the parade. The Saint Ann's marching band is lined into three columns, backs toward the camera, perhaps preparing to march. Many floats are lined in the background at a diagonal, including one representing the ANB/ANS. In the distant background, buildings can be seen around the slopes of Mount Juneau. The number "16" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
