Description:
Sepia toned photograph of Juneau—Douglas Community College in flames at night.
Sepia toned photo in landscape shows Juneau—Douglas Community College in flames. Two houses can be seen in the bottom corner of the proper right of the photograph. These two houses are in front of the community college. Lights appear to be on in two rooms of the house near the center. Additionally, the house near the center of the photograph has a set of stairs running from the street sidewalk to a ground level door. A street runs between the two houses and the community college. To the proper right of the photograph, the boom (or bucket platform) of a fire truck can be seen. The firefighter on the platform is holding a hose which is spraying water horizontally to the proper left. Flames and smoke clouds from the community college rise high into the night sky in both directions. The windows to the community college building appear to have been blown out and flames can be seen rising behind the window frame. To the proper left, a group of men can be seen standing near a telephone/power line pole. Also to the proper left, two people are standing outside a house while another man stands alone a few feet from the group of people standing near the telephone pole. On the street behind the two houses, two men are standing at the rear of the fire engine. Two additional men are standing a few feet from the fire engine. A hose is looped from the rear end of the fire engine around the men standing apart from the fire engine and then back toward the fire engine. Three men stand between the group gathered at the telephone pole and the two men standing apart from the fire engine.
