Black and white photographic print of two men sitting on the cabin of a boat. Both men are wearing military uniforms. Mast with instruments raises up behind him to which an American flag is attached. Snow covered, mountainous landscape in background.
Photograph was a white boarder around all four sides.
In bottom proper right hand corner of verso is the word "Candy" handwritten in pencil.
Notes:
The US AFF P—510 was an emergency rescue boat in the Aleutians during WWII. 11th Air Force bombed Kiril Islands of Northern Japan in 1943—1945. The 10th Emergency Rescue Boat was assigned to them to recover air crews ditched at sea. The P—510 was built in 1944 by Fellows and Stuart in Wilmington, California with two 1500 HP Packard Engines. It was 85 feet long. Its official description was an Offshore Rescue Boat stationed at Attu.
