Large format color photo of pilings at Sandy Beach.
Image shows a sandy beach in the foreground, foot tracks are visible in the sand. At center frame is a group of pilings that start flush to the proper right edge of the frame and trail to the center going away from the photographer. At the top of the frame is a fog shrouded sky.
Notes:
Photograph is taken of pilings on Sandy Beach. Location is just to the west of the place where the cave in occurred in 1917. These particular pilings are remnants of the rail line that was erected after the disaster to connect the lower mines with Treadwell and Douglas.
