Place:
Juneau
Date:
9/7/1952 0:00:00

Black and white photo of "Princess Kathleen" on rocks near Lena Point. View of rocks along bottom, starboard side of ship with small boat alongside. One life boat in water, another visible on shore. Stamped "DEROUX. H.E." in black on reverse.
Notes:
"Princes Kathleen" ran aground at Lena Point Sept 7, 1952. H.E. DeRoux did not take photos himself, but likely bought them & stamped them as part of his personal collection. H.E. DeRoux lived in Valdez for last several years of his life & died there. Photos may have been passed to friends who lived there. (Information from his son, Ken DeRoux, 10/5/02, who said his father abandoned family & they were estranged.)
