.A — Small 4.5 inch by 0.75 inch black and white photo looking west from Court House Hill (Telephone Hill) in winter, showing row of houses in Native Auke village along shoreline, scattered houses on hill side including Government School for Native children (white building near center). 1907
B — Longer 15 .5 inch by 6.75 inch narrow black and white photo with title in lower proper right corner:
"Juneau Looking West from Court House Hill, March 1917 (E.C. Adams, Photo" shows more of Willoughby Ave and Channel, some mountains on Douglas Island. Governor's mansion shown on proper left center side, numerous rows of new buildings and construction in front of Native village.
Notes:
Extensive letter from donor in document file regarding who lived in which houses, 1907 photo taken by donor's mother. House in native village with small round window under the peak of the roof was the Thunderbird House, burned in the 1980's according to Brian Wallace.
