Place:
Port Hardy, British Columbia
Date:
May, 1953
Year Range from:
1953
Year Range to:
1953
Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "N. Vancouver Island May 1953" in handwriting. The image shows a wide swath of open ocean water, leading to a far shore in the background, presumably that of Vancouver Island, with a small inlet in the center. The shore is slightly mountainous. A lighted vessel is traveling toward the inlet in the background. The image was dark, as if taken at twilight. There is a dark vertical line at the right of the image; it is unclear if it is a photographic imperfection, or perhaps a line on the vessel. The number "18" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
