Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "Scene of Chilkatts[sic] from Shrine 4—21—63" in handwriting. The image shows a semi—aerial view of a body of water bounded at the foreground and background by rocky shorelines. Judging from the image's capture at the Shrine of Saint Therese, this may be Pearl Harbor, a small inlet of the Favorite Channel. A dark rocky shore extends across the foreground. At the distant background, the sharp snowcapped peaks of the Chilkat Range are visible at the center, beyond the closer surface of the far shore. The text "7 JUL 63P" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper edge.
