Black and White photo of Juneau Fire Department 1916
Group photo of 24 men, mostly standing and wearing all black with a white tie. Two men are seated in a vehicle and two are standing in the back of the vehicle while the others stand around it. Group is centered in the photo. Men are standing in front of a wood—sided building on the street and sidewalk that is covered in wood planks. Trees and houses are visible in the distance on the upper left of the photo. Behind the men on the far right are two ladders leaning against the building. The ladders have curved hooks at the top. Printed on the photo just below the group of men is "Co. No 2." "JUNEAU FIRE DEPT. 1916" "Co. No. 1" from left to right. Farthest right is "#2—WP©"
Back of photo has a copy of image taped to photo with number written in red above each man in picture. Below picture is a typed list of names that correspond with each man in photo. Four men are not identified.

#18 identified as Frank Sargent (driver) was hired as Truck Driver on Dec. 7, 1914. Sim Freiman, #17, was formally elected as Chief, J.W. Bell, #16 as Secretary—Treasurer on same day.

The vehicle may be Juneau's first fire truck, a Stewart pumper, delivered in 1914.
