Black and white photograph of a float plane (sea plane) floating in a waterway. Text on the side of the plane identifies it as one of the Alaska—Washington Airways fleet. Aircraft's nose is facing the proper left edge of the photograph. Buildings and docks to a city are in the background. They are on the shoreline of the waterway and at the base of a mountain. The city is Juneau, Alaska. The waterway is the Gastineau Channel and the mountain is Mount Roberts.
Verso has a stamped number "17" in the lower proper right corner in blue ink.
Photographs is of the Seaplane 'Petersburg' leaving Juneau for Wrangell at 3:30am in 1931.
