Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with red and yellow corner trim). The frame is labeled "Glacier 9—17—67" in handwriting. The image shows a wide view of Mendenhall Lake captured at a flat angle from its southeastern shore. Across the water, the wall of mountains at the northwestern end are nvisible, with minimal snowcap on the peak at extreme right. In the middling area at right, the white, scarred surface of the Mendenhall Glacier is visible, covered in grit. A rock jetty sits in front of it, between the lake and the glacier's end. Toward the left of the image, there is some broken ice sitting on the surface of the lake. The text "6 FEB 68P2" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper edge, possibly signifying date or series of development.
