Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "Mt. McGinnis 1958 + Mendenhall Glacier" in handwriting. The image shows a wide exterior view from the southern end of Mendenhall Lake. On the far shore, Mount McGinnis looms, lacking snowcap. At the lower right below it, the Mendenhall Glacier is prominent, what's receded since still intact. In the lake toward the center of the image, there is a long sheet of ice floating. The number "3" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left.
