Description:
Black and white photo with white borders of man holding baby, with dog standing at his feet. Frame on right cuts off woman in ankle length dress who holds a bonnet aloft, her head not visible. Narrow gauge train track comes from behind man to left ending in partially visible open car or platform. Houses in background are center two houses in 90.61.24. Vertical black sliver of black border on right edge. Reverse reads in pencil "What do you think of me and the sun bonnet? Mr. Whipple & Goshie"

James R. Whipple was assistant general manager of The Alaska—Gastineau Mining Co. & died during construction of Thane in 1912 or 1913. See reference in document file.
