The Islander left Skagway Aug 14, 1901 w/ 110 passengers & 62 crew. At 2:00 pm Aug 15, hit iceberg off Marmion Isl. S. Douglas, 40 passengers lost. Rumored $3,000,000 gold dust on board from Klondike. Only $40,000 in gold found.
