Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "Stateside small boat in Juneau for 4th 1959" in handwriting. The image shows a harbor on the Gastineau Channel, probably on the Juneau side, just under the old steel trestle Juneau—Douglas Bridge. Many boats are moored, stretching into the background. The pier is separated into square sections, lined with tall wood pilings. In the background, the mountains of Douglas Island are visible. The number "8" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left. It also bears the printed numerals "00052544" on its right edge in black ink, perhaps a serial or development number.
