Black and white photograph of a float plane (sea plane) docked in front of a wooden aircraft hanger. The hanger has the text "Alaska \ Southern Airways" along its roof line. The float plane is viewed from the front. It has a running propeller on its nose. Water in foreground. There are two men standing on the hanger's floor at the proper right of the image. Other buildings and docks in background on the proper left. Equipment, barrels and tires are seen inside the hanger.

Verso has a stamped number "73" in the lower proper right corner in blue ink. Handwritten in pencil on the back is also the words: " J [indiscernible text] \ gordon \ Cot —2".
Notes:
Located in photo album (2013.08.011A). Attached to album page by corner tabs. White text on album page below photograph reads: "Get Hot". The caption refers to the practice of warming up a float plane (sea plane) before boarding and take off.

The album belonged to William G. Brian Harland. He was a mechanic for Alaska—Washington Airways and Alaska Southern Airways. He was based out of Juneau.
