Black and white photograph of a man in a row boat. The man is dressed in slacks, a long sleeved collared shirt, suspenders, a neck tie and a hat. The boat has text on its bow reading "O U KID". The man is rowing with two oars. Water and a mountain side in background. A town, harbor and mine are visible on the shoreline in the background. The man is Cot Hayes. The mine on the mountain is the AJ Mine on Mount Roberts. One of the buildings on in the city of Juneau has a sign which reads: "PACIFIC STEAMSHIP COMPANY". The waterway is the Gastineau Channel.
Verso has a stamped number "A63" in the lower proper right corner in blue ink.
