Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "End of Rock Dump + Douglas Is. from end of Mine Tour 7—22—63" in handwriting. The image shows a semi—aerial view of the Gastineau Channel from the Juneau side. Only the tops of trees and a rounded dirt outcropping at left are visible on the near shore. Across the water, Douglas Island is prominent, with several of its mountain peaks in frame. Near the left edge of the image, some structures can be discerned on Douglas Island. The number "12 AUG 63P" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper edge.
