A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Hawk Inlet July 5, 54" in handwriting. The image shows a long wooden causeway stretching across a body of water which extends into the background. On either side of the waterway, there are green sloping shores. The water is enclosed in the distant background by a section of snowcapped mountain range. In the middling area beyond the causeway, what appears to be a barge is traveling along the water. The number "23" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
