Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "Float — 4th '59 1st Prize Most Beautiful" in handwriting. The image shows a wide dirt lot, captured diagonally. At left there is a low brown building bearing a sign reading "F.M.S. Electronics Division." Parked cars surround the structure. A float sits stationary in the center of the image, a sky blue with yellow trim. Front and lateral text reads "Alaska's Flag" in white, and under that text on the front side, there is subscript which reads "Juneau Garden Club" in black. Atop the float on each side, there are large depictions of the state flag, as well as faux floral arrangement. A depiction of some unknown animal, possibly a moose is attached to the front. A man in a helmet sits near the rear. The number "17" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left.
