Front has color illustration of Juneau along coast of Gastineau Channel with the AJ Mines in the proper left foreground. In the upper proper right text reads: "C116. Alaska Juneau Mine and Juneau, Alaska".
Verso has a description/history of the AJ Mines in the upper proper right corner. The lower proper right corner is designated for the postcard's message. A hand written note is written in this section from top to bottom (instead of from left to right). The upper proper left corner has the text "POST CARD / ADDRESS" and a one cent green postage stamp featuring the portrait of Benjamin Franklin. The lower proper left corner in hand written text reads: Mrs. E.H. Finley / Cottonwood Falls / Kaus." Along the upper edge at center, between the postage stamp and the historical paragraph, is the stamped postmark: a circle with the text "SITKA, / JUL28 / 530 PM / 1938 / ALASKA".
