Description:
Black and white photographic print of a three men on deck of a ship. All men are in military uniforms. Two of the men are located at the bow of the boat. The third is behind them closer to the ship's cabin. The words "US AAF P 510" is visible on the side of the boat's cabin.

Verso has handwritten text in blue ink along the proper right edge which reads: "JIM HARTLEY". Approximately at center is a circular stamp with text which reads: "PASS[ED B]Y EXA[MINER] BA[SE] 173[3] ARM[Y]". Bracketed letters are undiscernable due to a patch of black paper sticking to a piece of tape where photograph was once attached to an album page.

Image has a white boarder on all four sides.
Notes:
The US AFF P—510 was an emergency rescue boat in the Aleutians during WWII. 11th Air Force bombed Kiril Islands of Northern Japan in 1943—1945. The 10th Emergency Rescue Boat was assigned to them to recover air crews ditched at sea. The P—510 was built in 1944 by Fellows and Stuart in Wilmington, California with two 1500 HP Packard Engines. It was 85 feet long. Its official description was an Offshore Rescue Boat stationed at Attu.
