A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Ketchikan 5—23—53" in handwriting. The image shows a swath of water leading to an abrupt shore under the green slope of a rounded peak. Under the mountain along the shore is a tightly clustered arrangement of buildings, presumably downtown Ketchikan. The settlement extends far into the background along the shore. The number "8" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
