Description:
Black and white vertical photographic negatives of a family. The husband is wearing dark slacks and a plaid shirt The wife is wearing dark skirt dark cashmere top and a light colored shawl and a head band. The older son is wearing jeans sleeveless knit vest and white shirt and glasses. The younger son is wearing winter fashion sweater jeans and a checker shirt. Film is Kodak brand.

Portrait is of the Hinkle family. The father's name is Edmund Hinke (1920—2014), the mother is Eleanor, oldest son is Bruce Edmund (1944—2007) and the youngest son is Keith. Both boys attended Juneau—Douglas High School. Keith was class of class of 1967.
Notes:
The 2103.10 collection was transferred from the Alaska State Historical Library in 2013. The ASHL Accession number was 1999—056. A copy of the ASHL collection guide is located in the accession file. This object came from "Box 1 of 6, Negatives, 1955—1963, 19. 60 pp" listed on the ASHL collection guide. The main box (box 1 of 6) was a cardboard banker's box and the smaller division was a Kodak 4x5 Film Box. The descriptions determined from writing on the Kodak Film boxes. Boxes were not kept.

Juneau Empire Obituary for Edmond Hinke:
"Edmund A. Hinke passed away Dec. 23, 2014. He was 94. Edmund was born in 1920 and arrived in Juneau in 1940. He spent 42 years in various places in Alaska, including Juneau, Fairbanks and Wrangel. He was the past president of Igloo 6, Pioneers of Alaska, a lifetime member of Elk’s 420, CAP and a chairman of Alaskan’s United in 1962, a group formed to retain the capital in Juneau. Hinke was a rescue pilot for 23 years. He was decorated in WWII for valor by King George V. at Buckingham Palace. Hinke was also a life insurance agent for 23 years. He is survived by: his son, Keith; grandson, Shayne; and great granddaughter, Veronica Hinke."

Juneau Empire Obituary for Bruce Hinke:
"Longtime Juneau resident Bruce Edmund Hinke died Oct. 3, 2007, in Juneau. He was 62. Born Nov. 30, 1944, he was a Juneau resident for 59 years. He attended Juneau—Douglas High School and was a medical corpsman for the U.S. Navy. He worked as a computer technician for the Department of Labor. He enjoyed hiking local trails and sport—fishing with his family. He is survived by his son, Shayne Hinke, of Juneau; granddaughter, Veronica Hinke, of Juneau; brother, Keith Hinke, of Juneau; mother, Eleanor Hinke, of Juneau; father, Edmund Hinke, of Port Angeles, Wash."
