Description:
Black, white and red octopus bag woven by ShgenDooTan (Shgen) George. The front main (top) section of the bag has a woven diamond geometric pattern, while the back is black material with a red edge. The top edge of the front is lined with sea otter fur. There are three hand cut (by artist) copper pieces attached to the front of the bag. The front of the four "arms" of the bag have a woven zig—zag geometric pattern. Each of these four arms have two tassels of white yarn wrapped with black thread. The back four "arms" of the bag are red material with red edge on the interior (front) side and black material with a red edge on the exterior (back) side. The interior of the bag is lined with a black and red floral motif fabric. The strap to the bag is black fabric with red edges on the front side and red fabric with red edges on the back. There are seven abalone buttons at each end of the strap. They vary in size with the biggest closest to the bag and the smallest farthest from the bag. White cloth tag located in the upper proper left corner on the back of bag's body had black text reading: "Woven Octopus Bag \ ShgenDootTan George \ 2012".
