Strand of Christmas Light w/ Sparkle Bulbs, c. 1960

Description:
A — Red and green strand of Christmas light with large black 2 pronged plug at 1 end with green paper tag with "Made in U.S.A, Plant C, FOR INDOOR USE ONLY, STRING, No. G" on front. Other end has plug with 2 slots to insert additional strands. Light sockets are black plastic with evenly spread ridges around socket. At bottom of ridges are diagonal lines connection in "V" shape.
B—P — 3 styles of bulbs:
(1) large round bulbs approximately 2 inches in diameter. Bulbs covered with clear sugar crystal shaped plastic crystals. Under covering bulb is painted colors. (10 total: 2 red, 2 blue, 2 green, 2 yellow, 2 maroon).
(2) Large oval shaped bulbs 3.5 inch long painted colors and covered in clear glitter. (3 total: 1 red, 1 green and 1 blue) with ridged foil reflectors (Q—S) around them. Red bulb has round 3 inch diameter reflector and other 2 has star shaped 2.5 inch diameter reflectors.
(3) Bell light. Small orange oval bulbs 2inch long inside yellow plastic bell—shaped cover 2.5 inch long and 2.5 inch diameter at opening of bell. Outside of cover covered in clear sugar crystal shaped plastic crystals. (2 total) All bulbs are typical screw in bulbs.

Notes:
Lights owned and used by Dot and Gil Eide, who gave them to Beth Belflower, who then donated them to the museum. 1 strand of working lights were accessioned. Remaining lights and reflectors were put into education collection. Lights and strand were received separately and assembled together with 3 reflectors by staff. Samples of styles and color of bulbs were basis for assemblage.
Bulbs were removed from strand for storage.
