Notes:
Governor Sarah Palin had to approve the filling of a senate seat for Juneau vacated by Kim Elton. The governor rejected the nominees of the Democratic Party and took months to provide other candidate names. The perception was Governor Palin was not well liked in Juneau and she did not want another Democratic Senator opposing her in the state house. She provided nominees for the vacant seat that included Republicans and others that were not experienced in government. The stalemate lasted nearly to the end of the session. Dennis Egan was the eventual appointee.
