Model Vega & Bellanca from Spark Plugs on Piston

Description:
Models of two airplanes mounted on silvery metal base. Base is end section of piston 5.0 inches diameter. and 2.0 inches high. Two grooves approximately 0.125 inches wide and one groove 0.375 inches wide around circumference with ten 0.125 inch holes drilled on sides 0. 625 inches from top edge. Piston is open on inside with four convex cuts out of top. Six 0.125 inch holes drilled into interior. On opposite sides of top are two models of airplanes mounted using 0.125 inch copper wire and four 0.3125 inch nuts. Airplanes are made from spark plugs and thin sheets of metal, painted blue and gold with logo resembling Alaska Coastal Airlines on side of fuselage. Floats are silver with silver ladders connected to fuselage. One airplane has registration #N196N and is 4.0 inches by 5.5 inches by 2.0 inches. Other has registration # N74M & is 5.25 inches by 5.25 inches by 2 .25 inches.
Notes:
Registration numbers on models identify then as representing Lockhead "Vega" (N47M) & Bellanca (N196N) by Alaska Coastal Airlines. Sheldon "Shell" B. Simmons was a pilot for Alaska Coastal & later, Alaska Airlines.
