Mineralight Portable Ultraviolet Lamp
A: Instrument
Tan and brown rectangular plastic instrument. There is a handle that wraps around from the top to the back side. The body of the instrument is a rectangle with a slanted triangle on the top that leads up to the front. There is a black switch on this slant. The front is a long bar that extends up over the body. On the face of the front there is a tiny light bulb under which is written "SHORY WAVE U.V." under that are two shiny rectangles that can be ulternately covered by a sliding metal pannel. at the bottom is written "LONG WAVE U.V."

B: Battery Cover
Brown plastic battery cover fits onto bottom of instrument. Inside of cover is label with descriptions of how to replace batteries.

Used in field work to test for the presence of fluorescent minerals.
Essentally it is a blacklight that was used primarily to prospect for scheelite, a Tungsten Mineral. Scheelire flouresces a brilliant blue under ultraviolet light.
