Description:
Stained pine roll—top desk divided into upper and lower portions. Sides and back with panels having vertical groove and ridge design. Two pull—out work surfaces and seven drawers with wood slot pulls in lower portion. Two small drawers with brass and painted black wood knobs and ten pigeon holes in upper portion. Brass and iron lock on roll top. Inscription: "This Desk Donated to / The Davis Log Cabin / City/Borough of Juneau / By Trevor M Davis / April, 1982" engraved on brass plate in back, upper right corner.
Notes:
Acquired by Trevor Davis about 1937 from the widow of Willis Nowell, son of Thomas Nowell, Nowell Gold Mining Co, which operated in Gastineau Channel area before turn of century.
