Description:
Dark gray, silver, and brown crucible. Inner wall measures six inches from side to side. Indented lip for pouring. Concave shape. Inside bottom has dark brown dirt and scratches of sliver showing through.
Notes:
Rescued from Mansfield Gold Mining Co's site on McGinnis Creek. Discovered in 1897 by Adam Riedlinger. Company formed in Mansfield, Ohio. Mine began operation in 1903 & ran off & on until 1917. Some ditching done in 1939, but hasn't been worked since then. See Earl Redman's book on area mines "IN THE VALLEY OF MCGINNIS CREEK'" or see doc file.
